Water Wings – BLACK WAX PRESS

$5.00
Description

Water Wings is a book about respecting the power of the ocean, celebrating people and overcoming fear. It is a personal story represented through a singular afternoon at the beach with custom made knitwear – used in this photo series as playful armor, a symbol of a lifejacket and a reference to early forms of swimwear.

Water Wings
celebrates support-systems and support-structures. It is about the metaphorical buoyancy nurtured by community to lift-off, confident in a space otherwise compromised by uncertainty.

Geo Knits Slow is a Berlin-based fashion project inspired by the process of slow, hand made garments and the beauty of repurposed materials. Striving to make impactful pieces with little impact on the environment, she sensitively repurposes second-hand bed sheets, curtains and other fabrics that would otherwise end up in landfill.

Geo Knits Slow has been featured in Viva, Stuff, The Earth Issue and FashionNZ as well as projects in Melbourne, Berlin and London. In 2022 Geo Knits Slow partnered with Liam to collaborate on a significant reusable knitwear project.
