The Evidence of Absence by Thomas Lord explores the parallels between geological and photographic records, developed through conversations  with geologist Dr Mike Palin as part of once upon a TIME exhibition (conversations between artists and scientists).
This photobook includes a series of photographic works made in collaboration with Kāpukataumāhaka in a cave on its west side investigating trace, duration, and the fragments that remain. Alongside it, lumen prints continue to evolve throughout the exhibition, exposing in real time as visitors engage with them.
