SERVICE JACKET - Burning Night Print – JPalm
Description
The Service Jacket in the Burning Night print features photographic imagery from the new book collaboration, printed directly onto white deadstock denim.
Burning Night takes its name from work by Ōtepoti-based photographers Esta de Jong and Lance Strickland, whose photography-led practice embraces high-contrast darkroom methodologies, composed fashion portraiture, and a raw, tactile analogue energy. The imagery printed across these garments comes from the Burning Night book, created in collaboration with JPALM, Esta, Lance, and Ted Whitaker.
A newer counterpart to the Utility Jacket, the Service Jacket offers a boxier silhouette with a longer body length and relaxed, oversized fit. Featuring a regular shoulder line, straight sleeve, and clean proportions, it is designed for layering and everyday wear. The photographic print brings a graphic quality to the otherwise utilitarian silhouette.
Details include domed closures at the centre front and lower pocket flaps, raw hems with a 1cm safety stitch designed to encourage natural fraying over time, and chest patch pockets for function and balance.
