Ted Whitaker is a Pōneke-based artist primarily working with photography and video. For Slug, Ted has made new photo works from his basement darkroom. These works lean into a playful and tactile methodology of analogue photography. The series draws on an archive of images made in a range of contexts and cameras. Selected with a common feeling, they feature glossy, angry and ambiguous patterns – all with a sense of speed, scale and noise.
